Since I'm probably going to be booted out of AKL I'm making my own replacement plans.

Is the a final answer on what's best between Swan & Dolphin? I've read Swan is smaller, which some prefer, but are there any advantages to Dolphin?

Finally, at Disney resorts you can check in as early as you want and go to your room after 3pm. What about at Swan/Dolphin? Do you have to wait until 3pm to check in at the desk?

One more thing - Does the Swan/Dolphin have refrigerators? Thanks!!

Just got back from Dolphin. We checked in early, hit the parks, then they called our cell when the room was ready. I like Picabu's for eating. It is a nice place to grab a quick bite as well as the "Fountain"(?) upstairs by Mediterranean. The pool is closer to Dolphin and the Lobby is a lot nicer. I love the piano players in the lobby. There are mini bar fridges which I understand you can empty out for a one time charge. I did not enjoy having to pay to park.

The advantages to the Dolphin are at the resort itself. That is, on-site laundry room, better game room, Pikabu's, a little closer to the pool.

The advantages to the Swan are in the rooms. Queen beds, rather than doubles, extra sink outside of bathroom.

For us, the room is more important. We are big people and need the larger beds, The extra sink is great to get ready in the morning. Only you know which resort will work best for you.

Thanks that is great advice. The advantages for Dolphin are things we wouldn't necessarily use, but the room sounds better at the Swan, and we'll obviously use our room. Thanks.

Just wondering if you are cancelling your whole Disney reservation completely or are you asking to be the moved to the Swan/Dolphin? Make sure you sign up for the Starwoods program online. The Dolphin fits 5 in the room with either a rolllaway or you can bring an airmattress.(Double beds). The Swan has queen beds and is the lst bus stop, which means you most likely will be sitting on the bus and not standing. This is important to us since I have some mobility issues and standing for a long ride would not be good. Also after a long day in the parks its a shorter walk back to your room. best of luck.

Hope you do not mind if I add some questions here rather than starting a new thread! Thanks! Also posted this on the Swan/Dophin thread.

Will be celebrating a couple of big birthdays (40 & 60!) staying at the Swan for 3 nights early December. :)

Tried to read through the entire Swan/Dophin thread, but began getting lost ...

So these questions may have been answered, but did not come across them yet..

Could anyone tell me about the views at the Swan and what and how to request a nice view? Would rather not be toooo high as do not want to see the highway or local roads, but just around the Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk area. Booked a standard with an AARP/AAA rate, so might receive an upgrade at check-in, but only if available and it could be crowded that time of year. :santa:

Also, any hints, suggestions (both positive/not so positive) most welcome!

Thanks so much!!
