Questions about Swan/Dolphin Ressies

It appears from some of the posts I read on the ongoing Swan/dolphin thread that some folks know what type of room they are getting at these hotels weeks before they actually check in...more than specific room descriptions assigned to rates. So I figured I would go to the reservation site and enter my hotel reservation ID. I've booked two reservations through Dreams Unlimited, yet the starwood system seems not to recognize my last name in conjunction with any reservation.

I'm quite the newbie when it comes to DU ressies and Swan/Dolphin. As a result of reading some of the posts on this board, I joined the SPG program. Although no reservations show under my SPG number either...just a big goose egg for the number of points!

Any enlightenment you can provide would be much appreciated!

Call the Dolphin and get your reservation number. It's different from the number DU gave you. Once I had the hotel's ressie number for me, I was able to look up my information.

We love DU but sometimes it is easier (for me) to just make my own resies. That way I am in control of everything & don't have to go through an agent. I made my room request on the Swan/Dolphin web site as well & received an email from a customer service rep, she was so nice & told me that my request was made & she did not see a problem with the request. We are leving Friday & I just received an email from then confirming my dates & a nice lettter. Have a great trip!!!!!

The "goose egg" for your points will change immediately after your stay. When we checked out, the final bill showed the amount of points earned, and then my website profile reflected them a couple days later.

Regarding the reservation number, there are two numbers I received from DU, DU's confirmation number and what DU lists as the hotel's confirmation number. Is this second one still different from the number I'll receive from the hotel if I call directly to inquire?

It's rare for me to go through a TA for anything any more, but the rates showing for the Swan/Dolphin through DU could not be had directly from Starwood/Westin. I did submit some room request info with my one of my ressies. Will DU pass that info along or should I pursue it on my own?

BTW, for our Aug. ressie, we're in Swan, Lake View. Nov.'s is a Dolphin king, balcony. I haven't requested anything other than nonsmoking and two beds for the Swan ressie. I'm thinking about requesting a corner King for the Nov. ressie. Any thoughts?

Sometimes I have to sign in first, then put my information in before it will show my reservations. Mine are usually under "other reservations", so click that link if you don't see anything sooner.
