Are these also given out??? Or do the CM's have to buy them? Please tell me they are not used?!:scared1:

I do remember that when I left the CP this past August that cast members in Food and Beverage and Custodial were given their shoes and I think they were deducted from their checks. Other roles like parking/main entrance/Boutique hostess etc. they bought their own shoes ( I had to have a Mary Jane style shoe for my role at the boutique) from either Payless, DSW, or Wal Mart (wal mart was the biggest place to find work shoes) What role is your daughter for the CP? She'll find out once she has her training schedule and access to the Hub as they have a module for costumes and thier accessories so she can check out the costume for her area and park also where she can pick them up.

Oh okay..great. That sounds perfect. She is QSFB. Thanks!!

Glad I could help!!! QSFB should be fun!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!! And like I said if anything has changed since I left then I'm positive someone will let her know (either her managers/leaders or her trainer).

My son worked QSFB and he was NOT given shoes. I don't know of anyone who was. His roommates worked QSFB/Transportation/Entertainment. Everyone had to buy shoes.

Your daughter will most likely have to purchase them from a payless; dsw; target or walmart etc... during her first week after she learns what color and styles are acceptable for her costume.

It is not advised to purchase this in advance as costumes vary by location and are subject to change at any given time.

My daughter did QSFB as a summer job this last summer. To begin with she bought her own shoes, but mentioned mid-summer that they were going to be getting some from costuming. She continued to wear her own though.
Good luck!!:) My DD still waiting to hear if she has gotten in to CP!:tinker: praying for the pixie dust!

when was your son's CP if you don't mind me asking? they were just instituting this when I left. One of my roommates was in food and she was given shoes midway through her program.

BTW lilmissdisney216....LOVE LOVE LOVE your profile pic!!! Your lab is adorable! We have a yellow, and love her dearly! :lovestruc

For Safety reasons - QSFB is now provided slip-resistant shoes. They have a couple styles they choose from. CMs are currently allowed to wear their own shoes... but down the road only the provided shoe will be allowed.

This policy went into place in June 2011.

It was Spring 2011. he just wrapped up 4 1/2 mos ago. So this must be a very new policy indeed!

So I would imagine the shoes issued are kept for the length of the CP. Then what? Hopefully they're not recycled. I guess we'll find out in the Spring 2012 as they'll be the second group.

I can only shudder at the concept of recycled shoes.....yuck poo indeed. blegh!

Yes, I just finished my program this spring, and they were instituting the policy just as I left. I stayed on seasonally, and was issued shoes when I went back to work in September. They are not used. Once you get them they deduct the money from your paycheck and they are yours to keep. Last I knew, the union was trying to fight them making one type of shoe mandatory, (They were pretty uncomfortable) but I don't know if they are still pursuing this. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I love it! You learn something new all the time on these boards. Do you remember what they docked you for? I'm just curious. Sorry to hear they weren't comfortable.

So far it was only $15. Hopefully they don't stagger it over a few paychecks.
