Questions About Rush Limbaugh

I haven't listened to Rush in years, but I used to listen to him. I know DH listens at work but he rarely - like maybe every couple years - mentions anything he said.

I do remember when I listened that he wanted to broadcast in Canada, but they keep him off the air for whatever reason.

I listened to Rush because he's funny. Sometimes it is straight-up stuff, but sometimes the guy is hilarious.

I'm not sure why I quit listening...didn't say, "I'm not listening any longer"...just kind of stopped.

I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh...as far as I know he isn't carried on radio stations in Canada, at least not in my area, so I don't have an opportunity. I do sometimes see clips of his programs. He seems like a complete idiot.

I listen to Rush about 10 minutes a day. It's enough for me to pick up the kids from school - if that. He's funny and I think that most of the stuff he talks about is meant to get the blood pumping like someone mentioned above. He's an entertainer. Some of his comedic stuff can be very funny. Some of it very stupid. I don't agree with him all of the time - he's too far right for me. Same with Hannity and definitely Savage and Levin - those two I can't stand. I don't care for Ann Coulter either, I'm more of a Michael Steele conservative. (Sorry for the digress there).

I was listening to Hannity a couple of months ago. He was going on and on about how Obama was going to ruin talk radio and all of these people were calling in crying about Obama taking conservative talk radio away and socialist this, communist that. It angered me because I know Hannity knows that even if the Fairness Doctrine was re instituted, it wouldn't affect their programming. He does not want his audience knowing the truth, he just wants them angry. I think this sort of "entertainment" does nothing but divide the country even more.

I don't understand the Fairness Doctrine. Can you tell me more about it? Feel free to PM me if you'd like if you want to keep it off of this thread. It sounds like if it is enacted, it will be the end of the world according to some pundits.

I guess that Conservative outrage is simply more entertaining to listen to. Bob Ray would talk about how we need to help the less fortunate. Ok, great. But hardly a topic that makes you want to rush out to your car each day and tune in. !
