Questions about renting an EVC

Hello I was wondering if anyone had any info about renting an ECV, either through Disney or an outside company. This will be our first big trip to Disney and we are bringing my mother who would like to have a scooter since its a lot of walking and she is an older lady. I know that if we rent through Disney we would have to pick it up and return it everyday at the parks but it seems like there is limited amount. If I rent with an outside company we can bring it wherever right? Who do you lovely people rent from? Also what do we do with it at the resort? I think I was that people park it outside of their rooms, we are staying at Poly if that helps. Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated I usually hang out on the cruise line forum so this is something completely new to me.

You should post on the disabilities forum.

That said, I would recommend she meet with a representative of whomever she rents from to go over the basic function of the ECV. You would be surprised how many people don't know there are speed controls or where they are on an EVC. Also, I would not park it outside your room. You have no control over it. People could move it (you can without the key if you know how) unplug it, or even break it. There is room in your room to park it. Also, it can cause an impediment if there is an emergency and people need to evacuate the building.
