Questions about Poly Resort

I am thinkin of stayin at the Poly in the summer of 2006, i am looking for a room with a garden view. i have heard that some of them overlook the pool. which buildings and room numbers have these types of views and non smoking is a must. any building help would be a plus

Pool view non-smoking rooms (which is a garden view category) are located in Rarotonga, Samoa and Tokelau. You can see it on the site tomorrow.

I would recommend Samoa. There is a pool on either side of the building. We just returned from WDW on July 23rd and were in Samoa. It was great! Close to either pool and the GCH and Capt. Cook's.

I also just returned from the Poly.Samoa building room 1608 first floor facing the volcano pool. Loved it... I have also been in Tokelau and found that a good central spot that is quiet. We did hear some Marco Polo's as late as midnight in the Samoa building. It did not bother me but some in my party were kept up by the noise. This was only on the weekends....I requested on my reservation Samoa 1st floor quiet pool side but was lucky to receive Volcano pool side..It was a great trip other than the heat. Been down there a few times during July and June, never felt this hot before...and the pools offered little relief. It never rained the whole week until Thursday(we actually were praying for rain for a little relief from the heat. After the rain the pool water cooled off as did the air.

We have stayed in samoa 1602, this too is a ground floor room with volcano pool view. This time I asked for that again, samoa, volcano pool view etc. We got samoa 3rd floor room 3611, the view was terrible, just tree tops and a view of the 3rd floor hawaii bldg. I am glad we didnt spend too much time in the room, its the smallest bldg. so your chances are hit and miss I guess and it didnt help that our plane was late and we checked in like 11 pm, I like to check in no later than 2, would like by noon myself, that way they offer you a little more or you can wait etc. Dont get anything on the 2nd floor, no balcony. I did notice, our 3rd floor balcony had alot of bird poop, I like the lst floor better and you get to see the ducks and bunnys up closer, Just remember no matter what lst floor you get if you do to keep the shades closed. I cant believe how many people keep them open, I am sorry but I dont want to know what someones family is doing in the rooms etc. Good luck. I also like the samoa location, close to gch, captain cooks, around the corner from the quiet pool, short walk to marina etc.

Please help me overcome my fears of the Poly. I decided I wanted to stay at a monorail resort... so, for spring break, my daughter and I did CR... tower, overlooking MK. Wonderful room - watched the fireworks each night from the balcony... Absolutely hated the location of the room, AND the resort. It was too noisy, chaotic, etc. I'm used to the Beach Club, which, to me, is a bit more reserved feeling (?)... I got the feeling that a lot of the crowd was people from other resorts... is this also a problem at the Poly?

I forget the room number, but we were in Samoa 3rd floor volcano pool side. The room was on the very end closest to the GCH. The view was wonderful. Great view of the volcano, boat dock, the GF, monorail in the distance. We had no problems with noise from the pool. The only external noises we heard were from the MK fireworks at night and the maintenance crews' carts on the stone walkways in the morning. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!
