questions about paper organization

Right now I have all my paper together by color.
8 1/2 x 11, 12x12, cardstock, patterned etc are all together but I'm thinking of just having all the cardstock together and all of the patterned paper together.

What do you think?

and what do you do with 6x6 , 8x8, and 8 1/2 by 11 paper. Is that separate too? and where does double sided paper go?

and scraps, the big pieces are with the full sheets and the small scraps are in index card boxes. I like the boxes but I'm wondering it the bigger sheets should be cut down to mat size, 6x6, and 8x8.

I ahve one cropper hopper for card stock and one for pattern paper. I highly recommend it I just need more cropper hopper thingys. (organized ROGGBIV and pattern by them) I would keep the sizes seperate myself but right now my 8 1/2 x 11 and 8 x8 stashes are small enough to just have in a different storage system now. I have lots of stack kits that are just by themselves and not in any organizer.

Cardstock scraps I haev in a 12 x 12 scrap book that I got on super sale arranged ROYGBIV pretty good about using up stuff that way. Patterned paper is just in a drawer. Don't use up the scraps as much as I would like.

Have no plan for double sided paper jsut started getting that. Right now it is by its paper collection but I do not think that is going to last.

I have 7 Cropper Hoppers.....
I kind of have the paper collections together but I need to get that better organized.
my big scraps are in 12x12 deco file folders from Creative Memories which fit in the Cropper hopper and that works out well, I just need to actually get the like paper together. Sometimes I'll need 1x6 piece in a certain color and I might have it but I will grab the bigger sheet instead of rifling through my stash.

I'm just wondering if there is a better way.

On the table, there are 2 magazine holders. One has my 8.5" x 11" cardstock, one has the Hot off the Press Disney books. In between are the binders that hold my scraps. Each color in a page protector.

On the bottom shelf of the console bookcase, are my Cropper Hoppers with Bazzill cardstock, then there is a "pizza box" which has my 12x12 Bling paper. Next section, are the pockets from the cropper hoppers in modified priority mail boxes. The inserts are organized 8.5" x 11" Bling, 8.5" x 11" Metallic, Bazzill Cardstock with an Edge, Heritage, Holiday, Disney, Paper I've Used in Swaps, Cruise/Tropical, Flowers. I also have one for Basic Gray, one for American Crafts, and one for misc other manufacturers, and then one for Misc paper.

Next section over, those are the CH sticker envelopes and they are also in modified priority mail boxes. One, is Mickey & Friends and the other is Princesses. One envelope per character, and the paper that is just for that character is in the back pocket. The priority mail box has my "overflow" scraps, one color per page protector. Then there are 3 envelopes that have some random paper in it, that I'm not sure what is all in there. That was my "original" Patterned Paper storage, so I am sure it is a lot of old styles. Oh, one of them is some cardstock I bought at Tuesday Mornings awhile ago, I think it is the same brand that Hobby Lobby stocks.

In the left, 12 x 12 drawer are all the Disney page kits. Top drawer is the frames, middle drawer the stickers, bottom drawer the paper.

Under the table, is a box leftover from moving. In it I have my paper stacks, homemade paper stacks that came from Costco, and some leftover non-Bazzill 12x12 cardstock . I also have some random 8x8 Bazzill paper packs that are just tucked in between the table legs. They've never had a good home.

I love my scraps in the binders. Although, I really need more binders. It's hard sometimes to pull it out of the Priority box, but when it's in the binder, I just flip to it, pull it out and use it. My Surprise Swap pieces have almost all been made from scraps.

good idea for the scraps Hope. I might have to do that, y'all know how I love my binders!

I'm in the process of moving DH out of the dining room so I want to take my time and get the room right.

I think no matter how your organized you kinda have to have a purpose to use your scraps or you won't. It is just soooo easy to use a new sheet. We should make that a challenge... scrap a two page layout with only scraps...

My paper is currently in a state of disaster. I had my patterned paper sorted by person (as in DD's, DS's, DH's and mine). Mine slowly became everything that wasn't the other 3's. So then I sorted it by holiday and misc. It works ok. My solid cardstock is really the bigger disaster, I really don't have table space for Cropper Hoppers although I really love the idea of them.

I have a wire shelf cubie thingie. I have my paper separated by color, the first seven shelfs are anything smaller than 12 x 12 but bigger than 4 x 6. Then I have the 12 x 12 papers separated by color. Patterned and Disney related paper are on other shelves. Set palettes are on another shelf. Though once I use up most of the coordinated paper I will put the remaining paper in with whatever color paper or pattern shelf it can go with.

Anything smaller than 4 x 6 is in a small box for me to rifle thru if I need a certain color to make a small cut on the cricut.

I did, sorry, I meant to reply but every time I got on the computer it was, honey this and honey that. They look great! Stanley is on his way home now. DS is super excited to see him. I'm going to make an album for him with all the pics.

I'm thinking of putting all the CM sets together like the jewel, etc.... My Disney stuff all goes in one thing though, CM and other.
I'm wondering if I should put the coordinating card stock with the patterned paper?? I need to find a rhythm so I can get pages done faster.

my paper is just everywhere. i am in the process of moving all my craft stuff around so forget it. i hope to organize it a lot better once my space is done!

I have 2 big bags of scraps that are in no order at all. I like the idea of putting like colors in binders. I really need to use up the little pieces before getting a new sheet and just toss the papers that have been punched to death. I'm hoping to set up a scrapbooking room in our basement sometime this summer. (That is after the piles of junk get moved out). Then I really want to get much better organized.

I've just put all my "regular" scraps (strips, blocks etc.) in a separate ziplock, with "punched" scraps sorted by patterned and plain. Yesterdau I only had one piece of paper in the colout I wanted so I split it in half and made up the other half of each page with strips from my scrap ziplock I'm not saying it was any quicker than just slicing up some fresh pieces but it did force me to use the scraps and gave me a different look on the page
