We are set to arrive on June 29th, the date for Mickey's Star Spangled Event.
First of all, where do you buy the tickets for these events? Also, what time does it start? I probably couldn't get there until 11am or so. Is it worth it to go then, and would I need a ticket just to get to buy some of the limited edition pins?

This is the first time we'll be down there, and an actual event is planned! I am so excited!:)
Any info appreciated!:):D:)

Hi, here is a link to disney's pintrading website...there is some info here about Mickey's Star Spangled Event. You pre-order pins when you register for the event. A week or two before the actual event they charge your credit card for the pins you requested. They will hold the pins for you until sometime early in the afternoon (one or two o'clock I think...does anyone know?) If you don't pick them up by the appointed time, they credit your account and put the pins up for sale.

This promises to be a popular event with it's patriotic theme. I think it will sell out pretty quickly. But I am excited because I am going to it! Hope to see you there!!:D

Thanks BeautyLLM,
I did read some limited information about the event on the web site. How do you know what pins are available to pre-order, and how do you go about registering?

Also, the $25 fee, what does that entitle you to? Sorry for all the questions!:D Maybe a lot of this information isn't out there yet, and I am jumping the gun! :):D:)

The Pictures for the June 1 event, The Big Pin Game, just came out a little over a week ago. I would imagine the ones for the June 29th event will be out soon. If you call or e-mail event services they will be happy to send you the info.

The $25 USUALLY includes a pin, a meal, a gift, the first chance at any of the pins being released, and the first chance at any remaining pins.

Here's hoping the meal for the Star Spangled event doesn't make airline food look like a gourmet meal. :D

Bumping up to see if anyone has heard anything else. We arrive Midday on the 29th and am wondering if it is worth it to pay for this.

No details yet, but keep an eye here on the DIS Collectors Board and on Disney's official pin trading website for the best information. :)

I'm planning on attending, so believe me, I'm anxious for info also.

Whoops! :) Forgot to log Lauri out before I posted. I'm the one anxious for this event info. :)

Cant wait!

Looking over our schedule, and hoping that our flights arrive on time, I don't think I could get over to the Contemporary until about 1pm. If I just arrived, not purchasing a ticket, would I be able to buy the LE pins at the cart for this event?

I'm really thinking that the timing is off for me to participate in any of the events for this, so I am wondering about even purchasing the ticket. Any ideas ?!? :):D:)

For those of you going to this event, I would appreciate if someone could pick me up a pin that has the date on it. I will be the big 3-5 on June 29, 2002 so that would be way cool to have a pin since I think it should be a national holiday. :-)

Are the pins available for viewing yet?

Thanks!

Shari

More than likely any of the LE pins not sold to event attendees, either through the RSP or the second chance, will be released on the racks after the event, probably the next day. If other events are any guide, there will be 6 LE 1500 pins and one LE 3500 Artist Choice pin. If there are 750 attendees and each person gets 2 of each LE, that will wipe out the LE 1500 pins.

Before you start to despair, think about this. Usually there's a time window for people to pick up their pins (for example, 10 AM to 2 PM), and any pins not picked up will be released for sale. You could wait to see what that time window will be for the Star Spangled event and then decide.

Thanks for the info Obi-Wan!

When do you think they will release pictures of the pins for the event, and give information as to times to pick up pins ordered. (If I really like what I see, then I guess it's better to purchase a ticket to be able to at least order the pins.) :):D:)

I have a feeling that WDW will release info on the Star Spangled Event SOON -- maybe as early as tomorrow, as soon as the Big Pin Game event ends -- and they'll probably release pictures of the pins at the same time.

The registration page is up, and the times for picking up pins is between 10AM and 3PM. However, I didn't see any pictures posted yet. :):D:)

I saw that this morning too. I printed my registration forms out and have my fax ready to go. Now all I need are some pins to pick from. Maybe tonight after the event is over. Disney just sent us a little teaser for the weekend. I've been checking every day, several times a day. You see I'm a little anxious.....

Heard from DW Lauri this afternoon from the Big Pin Game. First, she said she's melting. Second, she said they had the registration forms for the Star Spangled Event there, along with pics of the LEs. She told me, "ooooh you're gonna love them!"

She described the LEs as follows --

Donald at the Boston Tea Party
Daisy "Betsy Ross"
Minuteman Goofy
Pluto at Plymouth Rock
Mickey and Minnie as two pins, one of one half of the US and one of the other half. They connect and apparently say "Land of the Free" on one and "Home of the Brave" on the other. It's musical and lights up.

The AC is a silhouette of Mickey in front of a stained glass US flag, and Chip and Dale are the completer pin for the map set.

So maybe I'm being a little antsy here, but I really want to make sure I get my reservation in :)

Do you think we need to wait for the pictures, or do you think we can fill in the characters names and email the registration that way?

I'd like your opinion please.

Thanks
Jen

I would wait for the pictures and the exact item numbers of the pins. Disney does a random selection process so everyone has an even chance of getting the pins they want. Besides, it will be easier for the data processors to enter the item number rather than having to look up which pin is which character.

My forms are ready to go. Maybe some nice person will fax a copy of the pictures to Joette tonight and she'll have them in the morning!! One can only hope.
