HI There,

A good friend of mine from work is moving to Long Beach California.

I know that the good people on these boards ALWAYS are helpful and have always in the past directed me in the right direction.

Would anyone know where he should look in regards to a great public school area?

Would you be able to help him and his family by indicating the areas he should look at and which they should perhaps avoid.

He has two boys ..their ages are 9 & 12. (Or pretty close to that age range)

Thanking you all in advance,
Vivian

Bumping to see if there are other replies.

Thanks

Just as there are good public schools, there are some pretty bad ones, too. I think Seal Beach is good, Downey is good (both are near Long Beach). I live in Carson, and the schools in this area stink, so my kids go to a Catholic school. Torrance has a good school system.

I would say any school NOT in the Los Angeles Unified Public school system would be okay.
