Questions about lanyards

Okay. I've reserved my room for December 04.
Since I didn't need park hopper passes for my date of arrival and the date we are leaving I couldn't get the dream maker package.

My boys were talking about the lanyards and the trading pins.

I see now that I don't have the dream maker package that I will have to purchase lanyards on my own.

Does Disney sell these lanyards?

I've looked at cheappins and I bought a Stitch Santa pin on ebay, but what about the lanyards?

Any tips would be helpful.

There are places everywhere in WDW to buy lanyards and pins. There are also lots of places online.. check out the DIS store (I must admit I haven't) and sites like mousesavers.com. Gee, there are alot. Just search "Disney trading pins" and you'll be overwhelmed (I know I was).

Starter Lanyard Pin Sets.

They sell for approx $25.00 maybe more now, but you get the lanyard plus four (4) pins to get you started! They come in a variety of characters!

I have a question as well. My son started collecting pins on our last trip to WDW. He felt the lanyard was uncomfortable around his neck and it was irritating it. Do they sell something to put on the back of the lanyard to make it more comfy around his neck? I know you can put them on hats and back packs but he likes to wear it around his neck.

My DH had the same complaint and what I did was get him a plain tan baseball cap from Target for $3 or so and he put his pins on his hat.

I'm not sure if my DD's are going to be interested in pin trading in April, but I've bought a few pins from cheap pins, and I purchased their lanyards at the Dollar Store, they are NOT disney, 1 says I love basketball, and the other I love soccer...they are both purple...I felt since 1 is into bball and the other soccer, and they both love purple, if they dont pin trade, at least they will have a lanyard for some other use (???)

Make sure you check out the Character Premiere and Character Wearhouse stores. There are two in Belle's Outlet Mall, there's one more in the Outlet Mall by Downtown Disney, but I can't think of the name of it. They often have pins for real cheap. (.99) Last year they also had lanyards for $4.00. My son started out with putting the pins on his hat, but it got way too heavy. I'm also trying to find something to put on the back of the lanyard so it doesn't cut into his neck. I've seen things they sell for bra straps, I wonder if that would work.

Here on the Disboards there is a whole board just for pins and other Disney collectables, it's under the "Just for Fun" section. Other places to check out are www.dizpins.com and www.pinpics.com .

My DD and DN had the same complaint about the lanyard on their necks. I bought them neat vests with Disney characters that they wear and it holds the pins. If you are interested, PM me and I'll find the woman's name for you (and can send you a pic)

Check out Disney Store online. They have lanyards on sale now really cheap.
