Questions about Kids Club??

O.K. The answer to this question will decide whether we cruise in Nov 03 or Mar 04, so let me know!!! If a child is 2 years and 11 months and potty trained, are they allowed into the clubs unsupervised?? My DS will be 3 in April 04, so if he could go into the clubs in March, we'd just wait until then, if not, then no reason to wait and will cruise in Nov 03. Please let me know!!!!

This was just OUR experience. On our first cruise our daughter was 6 weeks shy of 3 and completely potty trained (and had been for a while) and she was NOT allowed in without us. It was okay because we still had another one younger with us but said we would wait until the youngest was three for the next one -- and we did and we could hardly get her to leave the club!

When DD was a few weeks shy we took her on RCL and they took her cause she was potty trained-otherwise they weren't going to take her...whew! That was close but then all of a sudden she didn't want to go to camp. At 5yrs she loved camp and and we had trouble getting her to leave. She's so looking forward to camp but DCL is pretty strict about their age requirements...they still have a nursery if they don't go to kid camp. So you can get some quite time...

I know when I called disney to ask them about their policy this past year (we were looking at going at two different times, one when my dd would be turning 3 at the end of the cruise and the other time a couple weeks after she turned three) and was told that she would have to be three the first day of the cruise. We opted to wait till she was three and she had a ball in the club. I have read from others on these boards about them allowing their child in just shy of week. It is no guarantee though.

We were on the Wonder in October and a gentleman behind me was turned away from registering his child into the Club because of age. I remember hearing the CM tell the father that they did have "wiggle room" (for some reason 3 weeks stays in my mind but I'm not totally sure) but his child was too young. He was referred to Flounders and he did not look happy about it!

I'd go for the later date just to be absolutely sure there was no problem. Also the extra few months can make a big difference in how much a child enjoys the club.

It probably also depends on how many kids are sailing on the ship. Because there might be rooms on the ship, but they will only book so many kids for each age group.
