We are newbies to DLR. Heading to California on June 19th and to the parks on June 23,24,25. Hoping these are the less crowded days due to blackouts for some of the AP holders and its Wed thru Fri, would you agree with that?

Second/third question is, when could/should I make dining reservations as well as I'd like to do a tour on one of those days, preferably Friday, our last day, when can I make that reservation?

Thanks for all your help!!!

End of June will be busy (sorry). Not 4th of July crowded, but still busy. Here's the wait times for last June 25th, a Thursday at 10:30am.

Dining can be made 60 days in advance by contacting Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463).

Those wait times are not bad at all compared to what they could be this year. I'm positive Wed-Saturday will be less crowded than Monday and Tuesday. Keep working on the planning and even if it is crowded, I'm sure you will be able to do a lot.

Comparing last year's June 25 with this year's is not a fair comparison, because last year the SoCal APs were not blocked out on June 25 (2009).

Last year the SoCal APs were not blocked out from June 21 to June 26 (link), and I heard from a CM that DL's attendance on Friday, June 26, 2009, was 64,000 (crowded!).

This year, the SoCal Select APs and SoCal APs are both blocked out on June 23, 24, 25, and 26 (link). :thumbsup2

IMO the blocked out days are your best option, except there's a Grad Night (link) on Thursday, June 24. On June 24, DL will likely close at 9:00pm, and there probably won't be any Fantasmic shows, and since DCA usually closes early on Grad Nights, there probably won't be any World of Color shows that night.

Grad Nights 2010:
May 20 and 27
June 3, 10, 16, 17, and 24

HTH :earsboy:

This is what I was hoping to find out. Thanks guys!!

Anyone else have an opinion on this stuff?

Dining: 60 days ahead
Tours: 30 days ahead

It won't be as busy as earlier in the week when we are there!! :scared1:
Unfortunately, I didn't get to choose our week. We had to find time when all 20 of us could go.

50sjayne I'll see ya there ;-)

I love your name, that would be our family too!!! three "women" and one lonely man!!! even the dog is a girl!!!

I'm feeling pretty good that we picked our park days during the socal blackout days but will just have to call it a day on the grad night evening, oh well we are use to WDW in June, now that can get crazy. We will try to be at the gate early and make use of collecting FP's.

I figure it's a magic morning so everyone will be tired anyway so it's ok.

If we buy our tickets seperate can we still get into the early morning entry?

How does that work? We are staying on dvc points so we will not have a package.

COOL
Is that at 8 am? be at the gates at 7:30?
and is that for just part of the park? or the entire park?

I think it will be busy but not OMG busy. I have been at that time last year and it's been very nice, using Ridemax and Hydroguy's tips of course. The park closing at 9pm is kind of a bummer but not the end of the world for a summer night, as one could go back to the hotel and swim late. If you are staying at Hojo the kids could enjoy the water park. My question is, why are Gradnights so LATE into June this year? I don't remember it ever being so late into June before

Check out my MM super thread here. It explains everything about MM.:thumbsup2

This may sound dumb and I know DVC is on property but does staying DVC allow MM too? Sometimes the rules differ for DVC.

Yes, I am pretty sure anyone staying anywhere onsite gets this perk. Going to update MM superthread with this info.

Thanks for the link to the MM suoer thread!! that explained alot.

I forgot about ridemax, I may give that a try.

So as long as we have a three day PH tickets we can get into MM on the Thursday of our trip. I think I'll buy my tickets online, do they send you the tickets or do you have to go to a ticket office/booth/front desk to get a voucher swapped out?
