questions about iphone and ipad pics..

I just got an ipad 2. I set up icloud and photostream. My camera roll pics did not transfer over to my ipad. I did take a pic after I set all that up and I did see that the new pic transferred over to my ipad under photostream. Do I need to set that pic up in an album on my ipad somehow now? Is there anyway to get my iphone camera roll pics to my ipad?
I'm going to disney in 2 weeks and i'm only using my iphone for pics, so I want to have all this figured out by then..lol. I was using a camera and then saving all my past pics to cd's. Since I can't even see the cd's on my ipad, is there some other way to eventually move my pics to some other type of storage device and off the ipad? But be able to use the ipad to see them? If not, I guess I can still store every thing on cd's and just use my kids's desktop if I ever need to see the pics.

I may be able to help although the photostream thing confuses me a bit too. I recently set up icloud and photostream with my iphone (I have had my iphone for a while before setting up icloud, so I had a ton of pictures from before on the camera roll).. I noticed the same thing that only the pictures taken afterrrrr I turned on the photostream on my iphone appeared on my computer. So, I asked a worker in an apple store, and they explained that only pictures and screenshots taken after photostream has been turned on would transfer over...not any of my previous pictures from the camera roll. Hope this helped!

I have manually saved my camera roll pictures from before to my computer by plugging in the iphone to my laptop with the usb cord and then copying over the folder of pictures...not sure if maybe you can do something similiar with the ipad?
