First of all, is that still the name of it? or is Yorkshire county fish shop? What kind of fish is the fish and chips made with? Is it really authentic, like how it's served in England etc. We have fish & (fries) here in New England all the time and are also wondering if it's any different than that. What have your experiences there been like? Any info appreciated! Thanks

There are two different fish and chips preparations available in Epcot at the United Kingdom. The Harry Ramsden F&C dinner is available in the Rose & Crown Dining Room. This is cod fillet cooked in batter and served with English chips and garden peas. I think the price is around $15. The Yorkshire County Fish Shop serves breaded fish fillet and chips from the takeout location next door to the Rose & Crown Pub. This preparation is also available as the fish and chips "snack" in the pub. Price is around $6.25 for two strips of fish plus chips. Remember that English "chips" are American French fries and are not to be confused with "crisps" (American potato chips).

whoops, someone beat me to this post, it's now redundant and I can't delete it. So there.

Like the snack size,we get one and split it for afternoon snack.I think the batter is a little heavy but love the flavor.::yes:: :wave2:

I always have to get a snack size order while we are in the world. They are very good size and worth the price.

I found the fish at Epcot to be different than the typical NE fried fish. At Epcot they use a batter which fries up light and crispy. A lot of places around here seem to dip their fish in crumbs, cornmeal or a combo of batter plus crumbs so the coating is heavier.

I once had the fish & chips for dinner at Rose and Crown and it was way too much to even begin to eat. The piece of fried fish must have been a foot long. Tasty, but when they put too much food in front of me my appetite evaporates.

Last trip, we did the counter service fish & chips for lunch and it was perfect. Perfect portion, not greasy, absolutely delicious.

We are in perpetual winter. The line under my name says it all.

:(

At least I will be at WDW in May.

The Fish and chips at EPCOT are better than we get here in the nearly summery UK! but the chips are thinner here we like our chips thick!! (also cannot tell you how cool it was to see a sign for Chips and it not mean crisps!!)

glad you all enjoy the only worthwile food my homeland created!!

Why is it that the Harry Ramsden fish in EPCOT is cod, but here in the UK they use haddock?

I don't like cod, I find it the poor relation of haddock(just my own opinion I hasten to add). I have been in several Harry's restaurants in Britain and have always been served haddock.

Here in Southern Maine, we always eat Haddock as well and love it. We're not cod fans either, but will probably give it a try since we'll be at Disney! (I was hoping it would be Haddock, but doubted it since it seems when ever we leave New England, fried fish is usually cod)
