Hi, everyone!

My aunt is planning to renew her vows in Disney this July, and she's appointed me as co-researcher for the trip. A couple nights ago we were browsing mouseweddings.com and of all the locations that they had pictures for, she loved the Grand Floridian Commander's Terrace the most. Any information you guys could give me about this location (Minimum number of guests to rent it? Is it better for smaller parties of guests or larger parties? Etc, etc. ;) ) would be AWESOME and pictures would be even better!

She's been in touch with Fairy Tale Weddings already, but everyone here seems so knowledgeable, and we would really love some firsthand input. So if you can help us out, we would really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for anything you can tell me! :goodvibes

I'll jump in with what I think I know. Commander's Terrace is the normal location for cake cutting ceremonies for Escape packages, so I'm not sure that you can actually rent it - at least I've never heard of anyone doing that. It's definitely a smaller location. As far as pricing, it's included in the escape package, so I have no idea how much it costs.

I know that doesn't really answer your questions, unless your Aunt is planning an Escape VR, but it's a start!

Check this site out for location pictures.

Yes, she was looking at it because it was small and because she was hoping to have the cake out there and everything. They're not going to have a dinner, just a cake, so this would be perfect!

We shouldn't have more than twenty people so I think the Disney people told her to go with the Escape VR when she talked with them. Thanks so much for the pictures link and for your input! I'll let her know! :thumbsup2

Just to clarify...the Commanders Terrace location is for the cake and champagne reception for brides who choose the Wedding Pavilion as their ceremony location.

I've never heard of anyone using the Commanders Terrace as the location for their entire wedding/VR location...not that it can't be done...let us know what Disney tells you!

I think she was talking about either the Wedding Pavilion or Sunset Pointe at the Poly for her ceremony. I guess she'll have to check to see if they would let her do the ceremony at Sunset Pointe or if she would HAVE to do it at the Wedding Pavilion. She was hoping to use the Commander's Terrace just for a short cake-cutting reception. So this might work out very nicely! Thanks for your input! :thumbsup2
