Hey there,
We are only just about 65 days away and can now book our shore excursions and we have some thoughts of what we want to do so I am hoping someone here has done them and can tell me if we are crazy or smart to do them.

We have 3 kids ages 9, 7 and 3 and the inlaws are going with us. When we get to Nassau hubby and I are certified scuba divers so we want to do the scuba tour while grandparents stay with the kids (they even agreed so that is wonderful) and then after we get done scuba diving we dont have a lot of choice of things to do so we thought we would do something kind of "cheap" and do the glass bottom boat in Nassau. I have read confliciting reports on the glass bottom boat tour but thought it might be ok with the smaller kids.

In Freeport (a stop we werent planning on making but it got added lately) we thought we would do the Dolphin Encounter thing since it is a little cheaper and we dont see a whole lot of other tours we can do with such small kids. Then we thought we would use the rest of the day as a "day at sea" and go back to the boat to swim and such. We arent huge shoppers but will probably shop a little on each island.

On Castaway we thought we would just play in the sand, rent some floats and maybe bike (although I dont know if my 3 year old would enjoy it) do they have training wheels on small bikes for kids?? Anyway we MIGHT do parasailing but havent decided (seems like ALOT of money) but that is about it for us at CC.

Can anyone tell us their experiences good or bad on these tours?? I am going to book them tomorrow so if you have any opinions please post!!

Thanks in advance!
Heidi

The glass bottom boat that I did in Nassau was very disappointing. It was through another cruise line that I had booked this excursion, so I don't remember the operator name. It was awful! The description glass bottom boat can be deceiving. What we were on was a two story pontoon like boat. The group had to split in two and take turns going to the bottom of the boat to look through a few small glass windows. You really didn't get to see much, and you only got about a fifteen minute turn.

This was our experience with the glass bottom boat, and really wasn't worth the money.
