Questions about ECV rentals

So my sister and I finally decided on a trip date. We will be going for 4 days October 28-31. I am very excited.

I have a question about the ECV's. For those of you who have rented what type of chair do you recommend? I need something comfortable. I am not really that big. I am 4'11 and around 150 lbs. mad: I HATE PREDNISONE!!!)

I really need a cushioned seat with lots of back support. I have horrible arthritis in my back and hips as well as my knees and ankles. I also need something that does not leave my legs cramped. It is difficult to choose something by just looking at the pictures!

I would recommend renting from an offsite vendor. The Disney ECVs are not that comfortable and are large. There is no choice in type as they are all the same. An offsite vendor can make adjustments for your height. I bring small pillows to help support my back even in my own powerchair as a standard seat is a bit to deep for me without it.

I would also suggest calling the various vendors and give them your height/weight/needs information. Ask what they would have available that would work for you. Generally at the rental locations you will talk to a real person who is there and knows what you are talking about.

Definitely rent off site - I am 5'1" and sat in a Disney scooter and could not even reach the handles!

I have yet to find a scooter that worked for me, but I have a lot of problems with arms and hands, so I do better now that I have a powerchair!

Anyway, definitely call and ask the vendors what they suggest. They know their models best!
