Last year my wife and I ate in the castle's resturaunt and loved it. The prime rib was great and my wife loved the chocolate slipper desert. We were hoping to eat there again this coming August, but I from what I understand the resturaunt has changed a bit. What are all of the changes? Is it too "girly"? I am traveling with my mother, step father, and 17 year old brother, so its more boys than girls :). We will be going to the evening dinner, so I know the princesses will not be there. Last year this was one of my favorite resturaunts and I would love to eat there again, but if I have to I will try crystal palace. What are ya'll sugesstions?

The changes are that the price went way up, you must pay in full when you book it, Cinderella is downstairs for all three meals for a photo package (that is now included in the price increase) which comes with a lithograph, and now Fairy Godmother and the 2 mice make an appearance for a little presentation, but they do NOT circulate.

I believe the dinner food is the same but they no longer offer the slipper dessert on the menu. You can, however, special order it for $12.50.

I was disappointed in the change. We went to the castle for lunch in 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and food. We don't have little girls, so we don't really want the photo package.

Does the slipper dessert need to be ordered in advance of the meal (perhaps a day or two ahead of time)? We love that dessert and will be eating at the castle during our trip this July. :sunny:

Yes, it can now be special ordered for $12.50 and they need about 48 hours notice.

Thank you. Now I am trying to decide where we are going to eat on out MK day. I'm thinking of either Crystal palace (but I kind of want to stay away from buffets becuase we are already eating at Boma and O'hana's) or go to a resuraunt in one of the near by - monorail accesss - resorts. Any suggestions?

OP-I hope you don't mind, but I have a question too -I have a reservation for breakfast in the castle in Sept., are the changes the same? Meaning-no princesses making rounds during the meal? I guess if that's the case I may rethink my plan. Thanks for your help.

Just wanted to make sure you knew that Ohana is not a buffet.

Breakfast will still have the princesses making the rounds. Here is a link for the breakfast: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_crb.htm

It looks like lunch is now also a princess themed meal: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_crl.htm
