I'm considering one of the dream maker plans. Either the basic dream maker plan or the silver plan. Do these plans save money in the long run?

Is the silver plan worth it ? Do you find that you utilize all that is offered in the plan?

The basic plan seems ok with me. The only problem I am having is deciding about whether or not to book meals on my own or go with the silver plan where meals and other stuff could be included. I'm not really concerned about breakfast/lunch but more with dinner.

I would appreciate any input from those of you who have had both the basic dream maker plan and the silver plan. Are you glad you went with the plan of your choice or would you pick another plan the next time etc...???? Would you ever go to Disney without a dream maker plan? Yes? No? What are the advantages of having a dream maker plan?
thanks,

I have never done any of those plans, but if you go to this site
http://www.mousesavers.com/packages.html#magicalwishes, go to the top of the page and then scroll down to TIPS & TRICKS FOR MAXIMIZING THE VALUE OF PACKAGES then you will see SILVER PLAN: GETTING THE BEST USE OUT OF YOUR WISHES. It will tell you how to get the most out of the Silver Plan and then maybe you will be able to make your decision as to whether or not it's worth it. I hope this helps you:D

I used both plans on my honeymoon trip this past week. You have to do a little pencil pushing to find out which option is cheaper for you. I wasn't sure what we wanted to do about dinner, but I knew that we wanted to see the Cirque du Soleil, go on the Keys to the Kingdom and the Hidden Treasures tours, see the Spirit of Aloha Luau and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Paying for each separately those things would have cost over $300 for each of us. Instead we decided to add the silver package on to the first 3 nights of trip (we booked in two separate reservations to do this). The addition of the silver package cost $204 per person, so it saved about $100 each. Then for the remainder of our trip we booked the basic package since the places we wanted to eat dinner (mostly counter service, but a few sit-downs) would be cheaper if we paid for them on our own rather than using the silver package. Keep in mind that each wish with the silver package is costing you roughly $34 so if you can eat $34 worth of food than the package is for you, but if you can't, it's not worth it. And some restaurants cost 2 wishes, so you have to eat $68 worth of food. If you plan on doing tours or shows though, it's probably better to go with the plan.

Hope that helped...
