Questions about Disney Weddings

Hi, i have a few questions I would like to put to all you disney wedding people if thats ok.

We are hoping to have a disney wedding in December but weren't too sure on a couple of things.

How far in advance have you booked/reserved your weddings??

When you picked a date did you have to put down a deposit, if so how much??

When did you have to pay for the total of your wedding, could you pay in bits or did you pay off the lump sum??

I would appreciate you help.

Lisa are you interested in having a Custom or Intimate wedding? We met with Fairytale Weddings in December on our trip. We were told for a Custom wedding you can book your locations at least a year in advance. The deposit for a Custom wedding is $1000 when you sign a contract. This is recommended to be done about 8 months prior to your wedding. The balance is due ,I believe,21 days before you wedding. We decided on an Intimate wedding so we are doing a add on to our resort stay. This is $2300, I do not remember what the time of balance due. Go to DisneyWeddings.com. Teri, what was your add on? I was considering extending my stay. Also, are you in a moderate resort or did you pick another one? I am trying to figure out if polynesian or Grand Floridian are extra money.

We are hoping to go for an Intimate Wedding as there will only be the two of us.

I didn't know if we could reserve a date without being tied to a contract. We called them yesterday and they only have three dates left in the time span we would like.

We are doing the Intimate wedding at Sea Breeze Point. We are adding the vow renewal onto our excisting reservation at pop century so that we can be close to our other guests. I am sure there is a contract to sign but there isn't the $1000 deposit like the custom. At least that isn't what I was told.

This may have changed, or may be different for IW or CW, but I thought you could "reserve" your wedding date/location, but you may be bumped or moved if a larger event wanted that space until 8 months out when you sign your contract.
