Questions About Discounted Upgrade At Check-In

Hi Everybody -

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been reading these boards ever since my girlfriend and I first went in 2005, and I've learned an immense amount - you all are incredibly helpful.

I'm currently planning a trip for June. I used the 40% code for Poly (MK view), despite the fact that I never 'officially' received a code. We're staying for 6 nights.

I'd really like to stay in a concierge room at the Poly. The difference in rack rate is a mere $10/night, so the discounted difference is $6/night. However, the difference between rack rate of concierge and discounted MK view is over $200/night.

Here's my question:
Do I call Disney and ask the CM if I can change?
If he says that he cannot do that, do I take the risk of contacting Guest Services with my rogue code?
Or do I wait until check-in?

If I wait until check-in, will the upgrade be @ $6, $10, or $200/night? (there are still available rooms at disneyworld.com; I check everyday)

I would call and ask to upgrade the room - if they say no ask to speak to guest services - they worse case scenario is you keep what you have - best case you get what you want for $6 a night

I would doubt getting the upgrade at checkin cause they will not be able to give you the discount code if you change it at checkin.
