I have a 3 year old daughter from a previous relationship. I was at a dress shop the other day looking at gowns and the saleslady (not on purpose, I think) was pushing Ivory dresses. While I think I will end up getting an ivory one anyway, I was just wondering the etiquette of this? Any moms out there wore white? I thought white meant celebration as well as purity. I may be wrong, though.

I have three children and will be wearing white. I figure it's my day and I'll wear what I feel beautiful in. :goodvibes

I have a 6 year old and I'm wearing white as well.

I'm not big into the whole "traditional" type ideals though.

My fiance was with me when I made my final dress decision even.

It's your day, and you should feel beautiful. If you want to wear white, no one should make you feel obligated to change your mind.

I definitely agree that you should wear whatever you want. After all, white is a fairly new tradition for wedding gowns. In the Victorian Era, most brides wore blue until the Queen of England wore white for her wedding.

My dd will be 16 years old when I get married and I'm wearing white. I bought a champagne colored dress, and in the end, it was just too dark for my skin tone. I then took my DF and we picked a gown out together, it is diamond white.
