Questions about DCL in '09

We are planning on taking a disney cruise in April '09. We are leaning toward the 4 day sea/3 day land trip. We will be at CC for one day, Nassau one day and at sea for one day. then probably hit Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom on land. Does this sound like the best way to spend the trip or can someone offer some insight and/or ideas on what to do while at sea?

I always say the longer the cruise the better so I'd go with a 7-day sailing rather than the land/sea option...but that's just me. I just find that the 3-days here/4-days there scenario really doesn't give you enough time in either place. If you are set on doing the combo trip, however, I think your plan sounds good.

While at sea you can relax by the pool, participate in activities onboard, see a movie, read a book in a comfy Deck 4 deck chair, get a spa treatment, etc. The sea days are the best part of the cruise, IMO.

I really think to each their own.. If this is your first cruise and you don't know how you are going to react I would take just the 3 day cruise and 4 day land so that you are able to get to all the parks. Just if you have cruised then I would consider the 4 day cruise/3 day land ( make sure that you get the hopper tickets and plan your days on land VERY well so that you are able to see as much as you would like) or the 7 Day cruise. I am going on my first Disney cruise in May and if things go well I am considering a 7 day in Dec for my birthday or a land/cruise option. Everything depends on what happens in May..

Thanks for the suggestions. This will not only be our first DCL cruise, it will be our first ever cruise. I'm not all that concerned with missing MK on this trip, as much as I do love it so. We have been to WDW 3 times in the last 3 years and the would like to maybe see the sports complex or some other things outside the parks that WDW has to offer.
If all goes well, we will probably take a 7-day criuse the following year.

If you do enjoy cruising you can rebook onboard. Doing this gives you a 10% discount on the cruise fare (categories 4-11) and an onboard credit (all categories). Just something to keep in mind!

We do 5 days for the parks and still feel rushed. The grandkids love the Beach Club pool so its hard to get them out once they get in. The days at the park are so full and a full day...Once we leave during the day its hard to get everyone back to the park after a few hours.

The daughters much prefer the cruises. We did a 4 day one and they insisted on a 7 day before doing the parks again.

We are doing a 7 day cruise in April and in 2010 we are planing to do a 7 day at Beach Club in Dec.

Have a good time but try not to be "stressed" trying to get all the parks in... The cruise will be relaxing...
