The fireworks were cancelled the day my family and I went to DL. We will be going to DCA tomorrow. Does anyone know where the best place to see them from DCA is? Or what about the esplanade? (sp?)

Also, my older sister would like to know where the least expensive place to buy alcohol in DCA is? Has anyone tried that make your own margarita thing (Rita's Baja Blenders)? Does anyone have any advice for a 23-year-old who will be going to DCA for the first time?

I know I have been asking a lot of you all. Thank you for helping so much. And thank you in advance for helping this time,
Alisa

The last time I was there we happened to be between CA and DL when the fireworks started and although you can see the boomers in the sky it really is night and day compared to watching them in DL and seeing the whole show. The lights in and around the castle and the total viewing experience is worth walking over, IMHO, and watching up close.

Probably the only place where we've stopped for a drink was UVA bar and we don't do much of it when we visit - don't want to get too dehydrated after a long day in the park. I do like a nice glass of wine sometimes but I'm no margarita expert. Locals can probably point you to some fun nearby bars and clubs down Harbor or something. Have fun!
