Questions About "Cruisin" at Epcot

I was curious about a new attraction at Epcot called "Cruisin'. It is supposed to be a replica of the attraction from "California Adventure". I am surprised that Disney didn't replicate a flight over Central Florida rather than over California. Does this attraction use the same IMAX films over California? Why didn't Disney film over Florida? Was it to save money? It seems strange that Florida would advertise California as they are rivals for the tourist dollar.

The attraction is called Soarin'. They used the California footage as part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth. There are plans to change the footage.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but Soarin' over Fla wouldn't be as impressive as Soarin' over CA, IMO. CA is much more scenic, and the ride is amazing.

Soaring over California was a "gift" from California Adventure. So they got the same movie as Calif. It wouldn't have anything to do with the tourism dollar since they are both Disney parks.

I agree it is much more dramatic using CA footage. We don't have mountains like that in Florida. :)
