Questions about crowds

Hello everyone,

In 2013 we went in February slow days and were happy with the crowd levels. We're going again this coming February and I'm wondering if what I'm seeing indicates that crowd levels might be different. When I read some of the posts it seems like people are seeing higher crowd levels at other times as well.

I understand that people sometimes hold onto reservations to let them go closer to the trip but didn't really have issues in other trips during these times.

Our trip is the week of Feb 21st

CRT Got lucky and found one at 8:25 but this one is expected
Ohana dinner - Nothing the entire week before 9PM
Ohana breakfast - Found one at 8:35AM otherwise tough
BOG Found one around 11:30 otherwise nothing
Chef Mickey - Nothing prior to 9AM

When did you first try to book? We will be there starting the 26th and I began making ADR's on 9/24, about 150 days out, and was able to book everything we wanted including two BOG dinners, 'Ohana breakfast and dinner, CRT breakfast and lunch. I have been changing some things around since then and have not had any issues.

This just seemed so odd to me because I have been looking for weeks and have seen tons of availability. Do you have a very large party? I just looked for a party of 4 and 6 and there are some for 'Ohana breakfast at 9:20 and 9:40 on the 22, 23, and 24, 10:20 on the 25th. There are also some for Chef Mickey at 10:55 and a bunch of different times beginning at 9 for BOG on the four days I checked. 'Ohana dinner and BOG dinner and CRT breakfast are filled but that is to be expected even at 160 days out. Maybe you should look again. Good luck!

I should clarify myself I guess. My party is 5. Kids age 5, 3, 1.5. Breakfast will not wait until 9+. So when I say nothing I mean nothing that meets the needs of our party.

I know the drill to keep checking and typically something will show up.

I'm really just wondering if this is any indicator of crowd levels and your answer implies that it likely is not.

Hmm. They're running the "Play, Stay, Dine" thing during that time, so that could account for some of the difficulty getting ADRs I guess. Otherwise, as the PP said, check again. And sometimes if you simply put "Breakfast" or "Dinner" in the search box, it will give you some random times, but if you plug in actual times, you'll find some times closer to what you actually want. And not too long ago I had a bunch of restaurants saying there was no availability, but I knew darn well there was because there were tons of times the day before. I just kept entering my times and searching and it finally came up. But I think that was when MDE was going through a very "glitchy" time.
