Questions about Capt Marvin's

After checking Captain Marvin's website, they appear to offer 3 plans for stingray excursions; a 2.5 hour trip (short excursion), a half-day excursion, and a full-day excursion.

I don't want to do the full day, so that's out.

I'm torn between the 2.5 and half day.

Is the 2.5 too short (it's 1/2 hour shorter than the half day, so I was thinking that they may rush folks along)? Or, if I schedule the half day excursion in the morning (10-1), will we be able to get off the ship in time to check in by 9:15? I've heard that if you're not doing Disney's excursion, they make you wait a little longer to leave the ship...is this true?

I'd love to hear some feedback on your experiences...thanks!

Back in August of '03 we used Captain Marvins and I believe we booked the 2.5 hour excursion....it started around 11:00 or so. We had no problem getting off the ship and making it in time and we did not feel rushed at all. I thought it was good timing all around. We went snorkeling for a bit first, then they took us to the sand bar where the rays were....we were tired after that so I don't how you could do a full day at all....unless I am just not in shape!!!

Here are some pics from our excursion of you would care to see...

Check the number of snorkel stops. That may be the difference. Some may have 2 and you may have only 1 (not including Stingray City) on the shorter excursion.

I thought the 2.5 hr trip was a "Goldilocks" trip.

Not too long, Not too short, just right.

Gave us more time for shopping in town, time for a bite, and that, my wife would say, a la Martha, "Is a good thing".
