Questions about buying DVC now

Hi!

Last summer, we did the SSR tour and looked at the mock-up of Kidani and decided that this year would be better to buy. We are going down to WDW in two weeks, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.
If anyone can help with these questions, I would be so appreciative!

1) Should we sign up for a tour again? Ask to just meet with a sales rep? (Honestly, I wasn't crazy about the sales pressure our sales person put on us last year)

2) What are the options/promotions for buying Kidani at this point? 100 points? 160?

3) I'm a teacher--most of our vacations will be July and August. What does this mean for our use year options in terms of what will best work for us?

I think that's all. We have Disney Visa if that applies, and are current AP holders, so we don't need to squeeze every second out of every day we are there in the parks.

I think I would go through the tour again if you hd time, just so you could benefit from the free gifts, also, some info may be different from last year that you may not be aware of. We really liked our guide, she wasn't pushy at all and answered all of our questions. I would be glad to give you her name if you like and could even do a referral.

Also, DW is a teacher so we always go in July as well. Our use year is March which works out well for us. Our banking window is in October so by then we definitely know if we will take anymore trips down before we have to bank or use.

No real need to do the tour again if you have already done it. Call from home to ask any question you have before your trip so you don't waste any park time. If you are truly considering a purchase you could get that done quickly and vacation on points in two weeks???

Nut sure if they are offering anything for AKV but they are for SSR if I recall correctly. Someone will correct me but I think AKV are $104 per point.

For most UY doesn't matter but if you tend to travel the same time every year than you would want a UY just prior to your vacation. So see if there is anything prior to July.......

I'll discuss it with DH. If there are no promotions for AKL, then we'll just wait.

And I appreciate the info on how the use year works. It would seem that fall-December use years would be harder for us to bank in time.

AKV does have incentives based on point purchase.

Currently:
$104 base price less $8 promotional discount; 100-point purchase

$104 base price less $8 promotional discount; 160-point minimum purchase; first points available in 2008 Use Year but cannot be used until after 5/1/09 due to Kidani Village construction; matching set of Developer's Points to be used at Saratoga Springs or for Interval International exchange and expire 12 months after issue

If you can wait until the next resort opens (whatever it will be) or soon thereafter, you might catch a better offer from DVC. That's what I am doing. It seems to me that is the time when they have reason to crank up the incentives.

A few months after AKV started selling, DVC opened its "store," Doorway to Dreams, at Woodfield Mall in Chicago and the deal was amazing.

In any case, put 10% down payment on your Disney Visa for 6-months-same-as-cash financing.

I had thought that, but now I'm worried that they might be raising the per-point cost, and that could negate the incentive?

Any guesses on when the new DVC sales will start?

Rumors right now are August but last month the release was supposed to be July.
