Questions about buying APs at a Guest Relations location

Hi everyone, new poster here.

I've already booked and paid for a room/ticket package for my upcoming April trip. Now I'd like to upgrade to Platinum annual passes.

Should I be able to go to Guest Relations at Disney Springs after I arrive and buy the annual passes and get credit for the tickets I've already paid for? (We probably won't start actually visiting the parks until later that day or the next.)

Have any of you been through this process before?

Do they just give us activated AP cards on the spot?

I did the same process but at the Epcot entrance. I heard Disney springs can get quite the line, but it took me like an hour to do so I would recommend doing it on a non park day if you can.

Your magic band will automatically now have your AP ticket on it. You will get a passholder card to show discounts but it’s not really anything they activate. I’m you don’t have a magic band yet, your ticket card from existing tickets will become your ap until you get home and order your ap magic band. Since all ticket cards and magic bands in your MDE account are linked to your info, they will all have your AP info now.

You can do this at any ticket booth also. It doesn't have to be Guest Relations.

That's where I done it the first time. The thing I like about Disney Springs is that you can at least sit down and relax while waiting, whether it's at one of the rocking chairs, or inside of the guest relations building on one of the comfy couches. Depending on when you get there you may not wait too long. Also, it gives you an excuse to take a moment away from the parks and spend a little time at Disney Springs.

Right, I was hoping to show up when they open and get it over with. Do a bit of shopping, get an early lunch, head back to the resort and vegetate at the pool.... or drag the kids to whatever park has available fastpasses or short wait times.....
