Hi there, I had planned on renting a car and driving to Florida. Now I will be flying (and using the magical express). So I found out from the AAU travel agent that there are buses from all star sports to the wide world of sports complex for the competitors. We will be traveling in July for the track and field championships. But the travel agent doesn't think it works well because of how many stops the transportation makes and tends to get to the competitions late. So the travel agent suggested not using the bus. I am wondering if anyone has used this bus service in the past (during kids sporting events)? and if so what your thoughts are.

Second, I was thinking of taking a cab from all star sports to get there in the am for the kids to compete and then using the bus out (as I won't be on a time table). So my question is... does anyone know how much a cab would cost from all star sports to the wide world of sports complex? I believe it is only 2 miles away?

Thanks for any info you can give.

When we were there a couple of years ago for baseball, the buses were only for the teams. They picked up in a designated spot and took directly to WWS. It seemed to work well. Many times we were on buses with other teams often international teams. Interesting to observe the behavior of young men from other parts of the world. I would do this again if it is still the same.

Does the bus only run once to the sports complex and once back? Or does it run multiple times? 2 days we need to be there for 7/7:30am (competition at 8am). Then 1 day we need to be there by 9/9:30 (for 10am). Where can I find a schedule. Or should I call all star sports or the wide world of sports to find out the schedule?

When we were there for a baseball tournament, the buses did 2 runs...one early one for the players and coaches, the 2nd run was for the families and other spectators. As ops mentioned, these buses don't make other stops. If I recall, we had Mears buses, not Disney buses. And the buses took us whatever time we needed to be there. Things may have changed but it couldn't have been easier. :)

Did you Google the name of your tournament? There is quite a bit of info if you can.

If it is an AAU sponsored event (vs Disney sponsored) your group needs to arrange the transportation through Disney. I would call or have your coach call Disney's Wide World of Sports and verify.
