Dear friends,
recently I made a reservation with Budget for a full size for the lenght of my stay (Feb. 14-27). I got a good rate ($222,68 + taxes for two weeks) but I have a few questions:
As a foreign citzen, can they force me to purchase damage waivers or liability insurance??? I´m asking this because I never rented straight from a company website before, usually I always booked the car here in Brazil, with local TA´s, and their fares always includes CDW, but this time the $$$ diference is too high.
I´m worried because thy state on their terms & conditions that "All drivers must have a safe driving record. You may be asked to sign a driving record addendum or be subject to a computerized Department of Motor Vehicles check. Based upon such search, Budget reserves the right to deny a rental opportunity." All I´ll have is my brazilian driver´s license. So I´m worried that they may deny me rental if I don´t purchase insurance and/or damage waivers.
My other questions is about the reservation itself. Everythime I booked the car here the rental rate was pre paid, and I had the voucher to exchange for at he counter. When booking through the site all they asked was my name, not even a credit card info to hold the reservation... is that usual? Will I have my car when i arrive at the counter?
Sorry for all these questions and thanks for your help!
