Going to cali in August havnt been there in like 8 yrs and hardly remember Disneyland.

1st question how different is Disneyland Park from Magic Kingdom?

2nd question with all the consturction going on at DCA does the park still look nice when you walk around it or is it kinda of a mess?

DL is very different than MK.

I always wonder where the Castle is.

I always get lost because things are not where I expect them to be.

I wonder why attractions that are not in MK are in DL

There are several attractions at DL that don't exist at WDW.

And when I am using my ECV I almost always have to use alternate entrances instead of the regular queue.

I dno't feel that DCA looks a mess. They have construction walls up that are all painted a cheery blue with funny things on them...helpful info too, like where to find the corndogs.

There are spots where you can peek in on the bay construction, and it's probably just b/c I have a 5 year old son, but I find that to be absolutely interesting.

I agree, I don't think it looks like a big mess. There's only one area where you really see all the construction going on. Is the construction as nice to look at as a lagoon filled with water? No, but I think it's interesting to see all the stuff they're putting down there for the new show. It sure looks complicated.

I've only been to WDW a few times, last time was in 2006 where I spent 3 days at the park. I know Disneyland like the back of my hand and did notice a lot of differences. It's similar, yet different. You'll probably find that it feels smaller, but there's plenty to do. Personally I like Disneyland's Pirates & Haunted Mansion ride a lot better, Fantasmic too even though it's not in DisneyWorld.

California Adventure is OK with all the construction, the lake / lagoon area looks ugly when you get a peek, but will be very nice once they finish it. I would say it may be a little tough to spend a full day at DCA, depending on the crowds it's very easy to tour and ride the park in a short amount of time, but worth checking out if you've never been. Be sure to get a fast pass for Soarin and see the Aladdin Musical Spectacular - and the Toy Story Zoetrope!
