We will be in WDW with free dining on 9/12 thru 9/17. Have made many trips before. It will be myself, DH, DD 21, and DD 13. DD21 is very picky. Will eat grilled chicken breast or pork chops (plain) with mashed or fries when we go to a fancy rest. I have ressies for dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe on Sunday. We will be in MK that day and it will be open till 11. I was wondering if Kona Cafe or The Wave would be better? DH and I like steaks or prime rib. Any suggestions?.....

I have eaten at both the GFC and Kona's, I like both and I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Both seem to serve some of the samethings. I think you should take a look at both menu's.

I eat very similarly to your picky one - LOL!

We're trying Kona this time. I think it looks pretty good for those of us who don't eat sauce on anything and like our potatoes pretty basic. The Wave scares me. Everything sounds very "fancy" for lack of a better word, and "fancy" means more seasoning than I like - LOL!

Good luck!

I hear you! What's the matter with regular food??? Not everything needs a sauce or a ton of seasoning. DH wants to eat somewhere "new" this time and it's hard to find plain stuff.

There is not even a speck of pepper in our house!

DH is picky also, and really enjoyed GF cafe. They have a nice steak at lunch I know of. Kona is also great. I have only heard negative reviews of the Wave so far, so I wouldn't go with that choice until they've worked out all their kinks! But I think Kona and GF Cafe would both be safe, good choices for you.

It is very easy to get plain stuff at every restaurant - JUST ASK! DW has never had a problem asking for something with sauce on the side or hold the butter or no seasoning. Not one problem ever be that at any Disney restaurant or our local Outback. You are paying for the meal - you should ask for (and receive) exactly what you want.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in the "plain jane" club. I always feel like such a freak special ordering at every meal. My weirdness is caused by an ulcer, but it bugs me that people look at me like I'm a spoiled little kid. I actually had a waitress (not at Disney) tell me that my mother "failed at bringing me up right" b/c I requested a substitution.

We do many buffets at Disney. I can usually find something to fill up on.
