Questioning my choice of dates...early May or Easter Break 2016?

I was pretty set that we would make our first trip to WDW the first week of May 2016. For various reasons, I thought this would be a good time...mainly aiming for low(ish) crowds and warm enough to swim and wear summer clothes but not stinking hot (hopefully). I guess those would be my priority reasons for choosing a date...not too crowded and good weather.

Now I am beginning to question if we should pull her out of school for a week. So I'm thinking about Easter break 2016, which would be starting on Good Friday and the week following Easter. I am very worried about crowds, but we would get an extra day.

Thoughts???

Ditto--no way I would go Spring Break and expect to have a good time. We went this year May 1-8. The weather was fantastic. My goal is to get there next May 6-13. Have fun!!

Pull her out of school. The crowds around Easter weekend will be super high.

We pulled my dd out when she was younger. We don't anymore because she'd have a hard time making up the work.
So, if she's in 2nd grade or lower, or if she's an A student, I'd pull her out. If she's high school and her grades are decent, I'd let her decide.

I will edit my self from earlier, some kids can handle missing several days of school in arrow. So op you know your child and if she can do it then pull her out of school.

Our DD will be in 4th grade and she is an A student who does not struggle in school. Turns out that we have a random teacher in-service day the 1st week of May 2016. So she would only miss 4 days of school. I think we will stick with first week of May. Thanks everyone!

We went during easter break this year (April 1-10 with Easter being on April 5th) and had a FABULOUS time! We were really nervous about the crowds, and don't get me wrong, it was very very crowded. But, with lots of planning we had a great trip. We stayed onsite and took advantage of the early EMH (7am) every other day of our trip. That made a HUGE difference as we were able to get a lot done during those first 2-3 hours, especially big attractions, which freed up our FPs for other attractions later in the day. The weather was great....warm enough for us to swim (and we did almost every day), but not miserably hot. I wouldn't hesitate to go during Easter week again.

my son was 8 for his first trip to WDW. His teacher, the principal and all the ladies in the front office said to us, "Disney world! Go and have a great time". When we got back, the make up school work he had was not too bad at all.

I would avoid easter crowds and pull her out of school. I'm sure if you talk to the teacher before hand they'll be able to work with you to help catch her up on anything she'll be missing.

I would definitely want to avoid Easter weeks. Look at recent trip posts on this forum, I've seen numerous people come on here and report being pleased with lower crowd levels early in May.

Pull her out while you still can!
We've done both, and May is our absoute favorite time to go. Been twice at Easter and twice in May. Last year we went for spring break and still pulled our kids out 5 days so we could have more time (we drove from MI). The parks were crazy busy, but we dealt with it. We knew going in that we probably wouldn't get to do as much as in the past and we were right. The time before that we went in May and my kids missed 9 days of school! Gasp. Both were in elementary at the time. Crowds were low to moderate and The Flower and Garden Show at EPCOT was awesome. It was the best trip ever. Now that my son is in middle school, we decided to wait and go when the kids get out for summer. I'm a tad nervous to say the least, but I'm hoping since we've already experienced Easter crowds, summer won't be any worse for us (fingers crossed).
