Question???

They are "mini-coolers" with electricity. Some people claim they don't keep things very cool but our stuff was nice and cold in ours.

They work well for most things, but one of my DDs wanted to bring milk to the room from breakfast for later that night. She didn't end up drinking it, and the next night she remembered and it had gone bad by then (being in the 'cooler' all the time).

So I wouldn't recommend it for milk or medicines, but for most things it is alright.

We put can sodas and water bottles in the cooler, after two days they were quite chilled.

Don't expect to fit alot in there. They are quite small. As I recal, hubby couldn't even fit an entire 6-pack of beer in there!

if they dont stay very cold and my husband needs to bring his insulin, can we bring our own cooler?

Yes you can bring your own cooler. - Mike

If you tell your room host that you need ice kept in it for medicine, they will be sure that it is fresh and kept cold.

I remember that we bought three 6-packs of 16 oz. plastic pop bottles and two 750 ml bottles of wine on the way to the port. We were surprised that we were able to fit everything into the electric cooler.

That must have been a big 6-pack of beer! :D

We fit a least 12 cans of soda and several water bottles in our cooler. I know my mom put all 12 wine coolers that I had ordered from Shirley in the cooler in her cabin.

Hmmmmmmm....it was three years ago so my memory is foggy. Maybe we were also trying to fit a 6-pack of water in there, too.:bitelip:

or maybe it was an elephant......

We took Ziploc freezer bags with us. Each day the room steward would bring us fresh ice; we'd fill up a freezer bag and put it in the cooler. We were able to keep water bottles, wine, beer, sodas, and juice bags quite cold.

Each time we took something out, like a water bottle, we'd replace it with a 'warm' one from our supply in the cabinet ... nobody ever went without a nice, cold drink!

Now THAT is a great idea that I will use next time!!!

As for the 6 packs, I think it matters if it's bottles or cans, we got a 6 pack of Key West beer (in Key West  ) and it was bottles, along the lines of a Bud...we had problems fitting those in with a few juices, and tried laying them down, but each time we opened it they'd come tumbling out! We just had to drink them faster I guess. :teeth: I think cans would work better, you could put them in on their side with the top facing out and it wouldn't roll out at you...
