Question

sorry to barge in...but I leave tomorrow...one of the tips I had cut and pasted to my list was that the COUNTER service credits weren't separated into child and adult (they are all pooled together was my understanding) and therefore your child can get adult meals at the COUNTER service spots...is this not true? I have seen it at several places including Disney's advice panel:idea:

You are correct, they are not separated. BUT! If you're only paying for a child's DDP, why would someone think it was ok to order a more expensive adult meal for a child? You can upgrade tickets to have children listed as adults even if they're under the age of 10 and then pay the adult DDP price (or get free dining, if that's the case). Also, on the KTTW, it's listed, as an example: 2A and 2C (or something like that, I don't want to go fish out an old KTTW at the moment), so if you're at a counter service restaurant with 2 children and 2 adults, you may be denied ordering 4 adult meals at a time. I don't know, it just seems kind of cheap and dishonest to pay a child's price and expect an adult's meal.

Yes you can...
upgrade your under 9 child to an adult if you pay the difference in the park ticket prices, even during free dining.

No you can't...
let your child choose from the adult menu at CS, unless there is no kids menu available, if on the dining plan.

I have not found this to be the case.

Yes, you can:
Always use Disney bus transportation for direct service between the parks.

No, you can NOT:
Get direct Disney bus transportation to Downtown Disney from the parks - you have to transfer at a resort.

It was not my intention to be cheap or dis-honest --and we are going with the FREE dinig plan. If it is true that Disney lumps all your counter service credits together then they obviously don't feel that they are losing money if a child orders an adult sized meal.

Wow! That wasn't very nice. She just seemed to be trying to clarify the conflicting reports she had heard.

YES YOU CAN: Take an ME bus from Airport to ON-site Hotel........NO YOU CANNOT: Take ME bus to SWAN/DOLPHIN... they don't recognize that as a Disney Resort, due to the fact that its a Different Hotel entirely...ON Disney Property.:confused3:confused::headache: Oh, and as far as the Re-using mugs thing.....:rolleyes1 Just DON'T talk about it on the DIS!:flower3:

It's clearly stated: "Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children’s menu where available."

I don't care if it's "free dining" or the paid DDP, it's still stealing whether Disney is losing money or not. I realize that some CM's may overlook or not notice the fact that an adult meal is being purchased at a child's price, and there are also CM's who kindly offer an adult meal when asked by a parent who's child doesn't find a menu offering that they like, but I believe that trying to hoodwink a meal is dishonest. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm stating my opinion, and I will not discuss this any further.

Yes You Can:

No you can't:

No you can't
use another resort's pool if you're a regular guest

Normally I keep my mouth shut during arguments, but I think this is a time for me to open my mouth. This poster is new and I think she's just trying to figure out what to do. It doesn't sound like she's trying to "steal" from Disney or be "dishonest." Sheesh. Give her a break.

Anyhoo, parkers218, welcome the Dis and enjoy your trip!!!:goodvibes

I think this person had her questioned answered. I did not, in all her posts, believe she was trying to "steal" or "hoodwink" Disney in any way.

No one is being argumentative except you.

Have a very nice day :)

To the OP-I hope you have a GREAT vacation! And don't worry-I don't think the majority of us know you are not trying to steal or hoodwink Disney! :)

She wasn't trying to steal anything...she was just asking a question. Your response was not very nice.

You know. I tried to use my TIW card at Le Cellier to pay for our Appetizers and Drinks when I used the DDP but the waitress said that I could not use them both. It was one or the other
