I was wondering I have already made reservations for a trip in September ... is it possible to still rent DVC points ... or is it too late?

it's "possible."

that is fairly short notice in DVC terms, so there may not be much availability. possibly only at SSR or OKW...or there might not be any studios left... but you won't know unless you check.

(given the time period in question, let me go ahead and clarify that DVC rentals are never, ever eligible for free dining.)

Does your current reservation include free dining?

Keep in mind that those who pay for their stay with points do not qualify for the free dining promotion. They can purchase the Dining Plan, but it is not free.
