Going on 6/2 for the first time since Feb 2020 but I have a question about Genie + I can’t find online or on YouTube. I plan on getting on the app at 7 but due to my flight I won’t be in the park until about 2PM. I want to make fastpasses (sorry, Lightning Lane) for a ride at 2PM but from what it looks like you make selections from a tip board which shows the next available time. Will the app open me up to some new interface where I can select specific times for later in the day like fastpass did? Also, I can make another selection at like 9am, right? But no more than 2? It’s all so overwhelming and quite frankly stressful. Thanks for any help.

Genie+ works like paper Fastpass - it is on a next time available basis so you won't be able to pick times like Fastpass+. You can for ILLs but not for Genie+ selections. You can make additional selections 2 hours after park open or after you redeem your first selection. So if the park opens at 9 you can make another at 11. But if you have a LL at 9:30 you can pick another one once you scan into that ride and don't have to wait until 11. You can pick one LL at a time.

Wow, that’s disappointing. I had no idea. I’ve never used a paper fastpass. We’ve been 7 times since 2015 so all with regular fastpass. So at 7am all I can really do is make a LL for the paid ones since I won’t be at the park until 2?

Some rides will get past two almost immediately after 7. I booked Slinky Dog at 7 and got after 2. I think Hollywood Studios will be the easiest one to get later times.

What time is your flight and which park are you going to? My flight leaves at 7:40 central (which e as I can book at 6am C) and we are going to Epcot. I’m hoping that test track will be in the afternoon times before I have to board because we don’t have wi-fi on the plane. Test track and Frozen seem to book the fastest (sell out) at Epcot.

We were supposed to leave at 6:30 but SW changed the flight to 9:45 about a month ago. 🙄 Landing at 11:50 We’re heading to MK. Judging from my daily checks on the app MK seems to have decent availability even in the afternoon.

I don't use Genie+ but from what I understand, you can usually scroll around on the app. (even early in the morning) and find afternoon times, as the day progresses usually all you will find are afternoon times. So at 7 you book at time after say 2 if one is showing. If the park you have a reservation for opens at 9, at 11 you are eligible to book another one, again scroll around and find one for the afternoon. at 1 you are eligible to book another one. So, if you actually do arrive at 11:50, best case you aren't getting to your room until at least 12:30 or 1. In theory, after 1 you could have 3 LL's stacked up and ready. If your last one you booked (the one at 1) was before the other ones, after you tap in you could book another one. So, you would try to get the first two later than the last one and that way you could always have 3 stacked and rolling. If your last one you booked at 1 is after all the others, you can not book another until you tap into that last one. Of course, you can always do stand by in between all the ones you've booked.

At MK it seems Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan go to afternoon times really quickly. You should be able to get one of those early. Your second one you won’t be able to book until 2 hours after the park opens. So if it opens at 9am you can book the second at 11.
