Question: visitors using BWV parking lot

We will be staying at BWV in April, and we just found out that some friends of ours will be staying at Marriott's Sabal Palms the same week. Naturally, we would like for them to spend some time with us at our "home", but I am afraid that they will be turned away at the gate since they're not guests.

Is there any "legal" way for them to use the BW parking lot? I don't want them to have to lie to use the lot, and I certainly don't want them to have to park downtown and catch a bus to BWV.

Thanks in advance!

There is another lot across the street from the BWV lot. We parked there just to visit BWV and look around, and it's just a short walk (1/4 mile?). It's not permissible to park there to visit Epcot, MGM, etc., but I think it's okay to park there to visit you at BWV.

The other possibility is you might be able to get them permission to park inside BWV. I don't know if that's done or not, but it seems like a reasonable request that would be honored.

If you are not doing the DDP, and you have enough room left in your villa, you can request KTTW cards for them in their names. By adding them to your ressie, they can also use the BWV facilities such as the pool the day they visit.

Otherwise, you can notify the guard house and the front desk that you are expecting a day guest and they will at least allow them to park. They won't have pool privileges though if you go this route.

Thanks everyone for your help. We've never had to plan for such a visit in the past, so this is unchartered territory.

When you check in or the day before you get there. Request a parking pass, worst case you could bring it down to them.

Hi there,

We were staying offsite last summer and visited the BW for a look around and to eat at ESPN (we had no booking).

We pulled up to the gate at BW and were welcomed home, which was kind of cool. We asked if it was okay to visit the BW and the guard on the gate asked for some ID and then asked us to park in a lot next to the gate. It was no problem.

We had a great night at the BW, visited the Open House and decided that we could get used to being welcomed home so bought in December. It might work out to be a costly visit for your friends if our visit is anything to go by. Not that I regret it. :)

Best wishes,
John
