Question - Transportation between Value Resorts and various Parks

I know there are buses from the value resorts to the parks, so forgive me if this sounds like stupid question, but I've only been to Disney once and we didn't stay on-site and it was just a 'day' trip.

Anyway ... if I take a bus from Pop Centry to Epcot or MGM ... will I then be able to turn around and take another bus or some other form of transportation back to the Magic Kingdom? I'm trying to coordinate meeting up with several different groups at the gates of the various parks before joining my own family at Magic Kingdom (its a work 'thing' but after I'm done I get to enjoy the rest of the day) and I really don't want my hubby and kids to have to go with me or wait for me before going into MK ... I'd like to be able to run my 'errands' but let them go ahead and go to the park first thing in the morning.

I'll have a rental car ... would I be better off driving myself around and then going pack to park at Pop Centry and riding one of the buses from there to the MK?

Any estimates on time from Epcot to MK or from MGM to MK using Disney transportation? Are we talking 10-15 minutes or closer to a half hour or an hour? (Yes, I'm totally in the dark!)

Thanks!
Elaine

Basically you can get anywhere using disney Transportation. You can take a monorail between epcot and magic kingdom. Bus service is offered to other parks, down town disney and the water parks.

The monorail from Epcot and the busses from AK and MGM end up at the TTC (which is the parking lot for the MK). You then wouldneed to take a monorail to the MK.

Time from the gate at one park to the MK gate will be about 30 minutes.

If you have to go to more than one park before you head to MK, I recommend taking the rental car. The busses between the parks run on a fixed schedule so that it could be 20 minutes to get to another park.

Now another option is to take the CR bus from MGM or AK (no CR bus from Epcot). You can then walk to the MK from the CR (about 5 minutes). Then you would be looking at the 15-20 minute timeframe.

I'm sure I confused you big time.

You're staying on-site, so parking at any of the theme parks is free...while Disney transport is fine if you are without a car, save yourself the time and hassle and drive.

We vote drive the rental car! Have done the busses for our first four onsite visits to the World - they were great - up until we rented a car for our last visit. We drove everywhere! It was freedom and we didn't have to wait for a bus! We even drove to the MK transportation center and rode either the boat or monorail over. No complications - but just had to make sure that we beat the major crowds out after the fireworks! Also drove from one park to another on the same day...it also helped that the parking lot for our resort was directly behind our building! :moped:
