question to all crafts

I like to have a go at many crafts,
I do cross stitch, card making , scrapbooking, and will try my hand at most things, but why oh why are all these crafts items so costly?
I love crafting but wish everything i want or need was a little cheaper at time. .
I think that there must be other crafters out there that think the same as me.

I feel the same. Because supplies are so expensive, it's hard to throw out stuff if I am currently no longer doing the craft. I'd hate to re-buy everything if I start up again. Now I have a bunch of craft clutter.

Check to see if your craft stores has discount coupons. here in America, a couple of chain stores has 40% off one item coupons nearly each week. The fact that they can keep giving out these coupons shows how much of a mark-up they do.

Another way to go is maybe trying eBay. Perhaps someone is getting rid of supplies you may need.

ugh, I know what you mean- I used to love all kinds of crafts, esp. when I worked @ Hobby Lobby & got a discount. All i can suggest is keeping an eye on the Sun. circulars- stores should be heavy on the coupons about now.
