Question: Switching MagicBands between MDE Accounts

I didn't see a topic on this, and it's proven a little tough for us to find an answer.

To begin with, I realize that you cannot reassign a MagicBand to another user once it has been activated. This is a little different though.

In 2014, my wife, son, and I stayed at the Art of Animation Resort and received MagicBands that had our keys, park tickets, fast passes, etc linked to them. We managed everything through the My Disney Experience website/app. They worked well and we kept up with the MagicBands since our trip.

We will be returning to WDW in 2016 and staying offsite. This time my mother has purchased our tickets. These tickets display our names on her MDE account. She sent an invite to our MDE account to view her's (dining reservations, fast passes, etc), but it does not provide us with an option to link our existing MagicBands to the new tickets in our names. When we log into MDE, it only shows the old tickets from 2014.

Anyone know how we can link our existing MagicBands that were provided to us via our MDE account to the new tickets purchased for us under my Mom's MDE account? We are the same people with the same finger scans, so it shouldn't be an issue. Is this one of those limitations on the MDE/MagicBand technology that will make us purchase new MagicBands?
