We booked 4 nights at our home resort, AKV, from Dec. 21-25. We are in a 2 bedroom savanna view lockoff right now, but our preference is to have a 2 bedroom concierge room, and we are currently waitlisted for that category. I have two questions: since there are so few concierge rooms and December is a popular time to visit, how likely is it that we will be able to move into a concierge room? Also, I have read on here about booking day to day, but I do not know what this means. If our room comes through on Dec. 21 for example, but not on the 22nd-25th, will we be confirmed just for the 21st? Or will MS only confirm us if all 4 nights are available? Thanks!

Can't answer about the possibility of getting the waitlist but since there are so few rooms in that category I wouldn't count on it. The waitist will depend on how it is shown in the request. If you waitlisted for each day separately then they will be confirmed as they come available. If you waitlisted for the whole 4 days they will only confirm when all four days are available. There are pros and cons of each type of request. Booking day by day is calling each check out day to make the reservation for the previous night. You tell the CM at the beginning that you are doing this and when you have all the nights they will link them and send the confirmation. If you waitlist for each night separately you run the risk of having one or two nights coming through and having to change rooms several times but it is an acceptable option for some.

If you waitlist each day separately and one day comes through, you will move out of the villa you are in for that one day and move out again the next day. If you waitlist for the entire stay, they will only give it to you if someone cancels for all the days you want to stay. If you don't mind moving all the time, do the day by day waitlist. If you want to stay put, waitlist for the entire stay and have a lesser chance of getting any days at all.

The day by day gives you better odds at getting that other location, but it also gives you the chance of having to continuously move each day.

The full stay waitlist means you won't have to move every day, but your odds are also less to get all the days.

For example, if a member cancels Dec 21 and you are waitlisted for the entire stay, you won't get that night and it will go to someone else who waitlisted for the entire stay. If you are waitlisted day by day, you get that one day, but you still have the other days in the non-Concierge 2 bedroom. So, you move on day 2. If another member cancels Dec 23, you now get Dec 21 in Concierge, Dec 22 in other 2 bedroom, Dec 23 in Concierge, Dec 24 in other 2 bedroom. You move every day. Not my idea of a vacation.

Personally, I think your odds of getting your Concierge two bedroom are not good since there are only five of them and they are all lock offs. Meaning the member may have reserved them as a studio or a one bedroom.
