Question regarding VGC

Good afternoon everyone!

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question. If I am renting points from a DVC member, am I able to use those points and book the Villa at the Grand Californian? I am not sure how this works and was told that they are unable to book there. Would someone be so kind and verify how this works for me? I would greatly appreciate an answer. Thanks so much!

A DVC member with an ownership at VGC can book at VGC 11 months before the start of your stay.

A DVC member with an ownership at any other DVC resort can book at VGC 7 months before the start of your stay.

They can book there if there is availability at 7 months.

It's a really small resort. It's very difficult to get at 7 months out.

Thank you all for your responses. I was looking for a studio from may 6-10. Never been to Disneyland before and wanted to surprise the wife for our 8 yr anniversary. It is on both of our bucket lists. I am starting to think we will probably have to wait a bit longer. I apologize for the grammar and punctuation, I am using my IPad in a rush.

No chance. It's all booked for those days. It's really difficult to get a DVC room there if you are not an owner there. This is VERY short notice for DVC to try to get a room there. The Grand Californian only has a small selection available for DVC. You'd better try booking through Disney.

In the past, I got a room there for May 7th - 15th at the 7 month mark with no problem.
