Question regarding spending money

Hi there

I'm heading to DLRP on Sunday until Thursday and it's my first time!!

I am sooooo excited and it's my DD's birthday whilst there also, which makes it all the more special for us. It's just myself and DD who is 5yrs old.

As I've never been I have NO idea what level of spending money to take with me, obviously credit crunch and general creeping up to Christmas makes things a bit more tight but I dont want to be a skin flint over there too

I've been reading these boards for a while, and still cant gauge how much to bring. The only things I know for sure I'll be paying for is a birthday cake at Cafe Mickey and the balloon ride if it's on.

Is there anything I need to be aware of or has anyone any figures in their head to give me an idea of what to expect??

It depends on what you want to buy whilst your out there & where you plan to eat table service will cost more then counter service.

Hi,

I am also a mum/daughter party when we go to DLRP .
You can spend a fortune at DLRP, but you can also do it on a budget (I'm always on a budget).

If you don't have half board vouchers, you could easily feed both of you, have treats, souvenirs etc on 70-80 euros per day. The birthday cake is £15, and you can arrange to have that brought to your table at most of the restaurants at DLRP. I don't know how much the balloon ride is though.

I spent around €390 when I was there in April, that was for myself and two children and includes travel on the VEA shuttle there and back. We ate at table service two nights (including Cafe Mickey) and had snacks during the day, and bought plenty of keepsakes. This time when we go back I have booked half board vouchers but would reckon around €70 per day would be plenty.

Awe thanks!! I know the balloon is E12 for me and E6 for DD all info gained from the lurking about in here

I've no vouchers, havent heard of them although I have got my friends discount card but I've no idea how much it is hehe

I was worried reading the reviews, someone said a meal cost E85 and I began to panic incase every meal was going to cost that much, I dont think I could stretch that far

I've copped on to bringing crisps, and wee snacks in my luggage to have during the day and I'm staying in Explorers so mostly good reviews for the breakfast in there.

I was thinking E600 for the entire stay, with sterling in the bank as back up. I arrive late on Sunday evening and leave for the airport at 3pm on Thursday so I hope I'm being realistic without not allowing myself and DD to really enjoy ourselves

Have a great time Catherine I think like others have said, you can spend or budget. We did spend a lot on our trip the other week (we had same amount of time there as you) but we would probably be more careful next time. Also we bought a fair few Christmas presents for DD1 and a few for DD2 as well so that factored.

The food is very expensive - especially if you sit down for a meal (waiter service). We went to the Rainforest Cafe one mid afternoon for our 'main meal' of the day, for 4 adults and one child the bill was 135 euros!! That was for: two starters, 4 adult main courses and one child course plus 4 soft drinks!! On the flipside, we did get a hotdog one night and it was 6 euros so it really does depend

I'm sure you will be absolutely fine with 600euros for your stay. The Explorers breakfast is very good I think, and their pizzas are great too, very filling, and only around 10 euros each (one was enough for both of us).

hey hope u have a nice trip to dlrp sure u will enjoy it and ur daughter 2.
regarding money dlrp can be expensive but u can do it on budget 2.
with kids there r so many disney memorabilia to buy that they can go a bit crazy wanting 2 buy what they c.
Tip: near the train station (between disney village and the parks) there is a shop where u can buy soft drinks/water/sweets/packed sandwiches at good prices. much cheaper than the hotels and shops in d park.

The Explorers also has a small kiosk that sells bagettes and pastries and these are lovely - you can take these into the park to eat at lunchtime

I am not a big eater and at lunchtime if we are counter service I find the kids meal enough for me
