Question regarding rebooking a rebooked Cruise

So we were supposed to cruise in April and rescheduled to September before April was canceled. We transferred our payment to September and then received 25% credit once Disney canceled April.

My question is, our PIF date is June 20 for September. If we decide in July or August we don’t want to cruise and want to move it again to April 2021, will we lose money being inside the cancellation window? Technically we aren’t canceling, we would be rescheduling. Just not sure how it works if Disney does cruise in Sept and we’re the ones deciding not to and if they go back to the their normal cancellation policy.

The new cruise is booked under current cancellation policies. If you change the sail date after final payment, then any cancellation penalties will follow to the new sailing. So if it's only the 20% cancel fee, then if you cancel the new sailing prior to the final payment of that sailing, you will still lose your deposit, if your cancel fee is more (closer to sail date), then that fee will be added to your new cruise booking, etc.

Yes, under current terms, you would lose money. How much depends on when you cancel. At final payment, your deposit becomes non-refundable. The closer you get to the sailing date, depending on the length of the cruise, it moves to a % of your fare (50, 75 then 100% at 14 days before). Now if you want to reschedule, yes, you are subject to that penalty but they can move the rest of your money to the new booking, less the cancellation penalty.
