Question Regarding Genie +

Hello, we are about 30 days out from our Disney trip and had just a few questions regarding the new system.

I checked the Everything Genie thread but to no avail, however the information there was extremely useful so thank you to those who contributed.

Question 1:
I understand that you can 'stack' by waiting 2 hours after you book your first LL. It seems that if you book before the park officially opens, you have to wait until 2 hours AFTER park opens and not 2 hours after the time you booked. If so, does the timer start at the opening time for early hours entry for those staying on property? (we are staying at Beach Club). Or do the early entry times not factor in?

Question 2:
Say we book a LL for later in the day, then we book our next after the two hour rule mentioned above, will the system allow you to book your next LL immediately after tapping into your second LL?
Example, say we book a LL for 2pm Peter Pan at 730am.
Wait until 11am to book our next LL for say Haunted Mansion for a noon arrival.
We show up at HM during our window, tap in, will it then allow us to book another LL? While still having the Pan res for 2pm?

Question 3 (more of a confirmation):
While all the above is going on with LL, we could book our LL plus (pay) ride (SDMT) for anytime and it shouldnt interfere with any of the Genie plus reservations, correct? So no restrictions when paying for the LL right?

We plan to hit all 4 parks in about a 6 day span. We always RD so the plan is to book some of those harder to get LLs early on for later (assuming they will be afternoon times), then jump into a few rides in the early hours without using LL before we start booking our next LL for mid day with the idea that we keep rolling from there. We wont be park hopping, so just one park per day but will likely take breaks mid day at least for MK and HS since those seem to be the busiest.

Thank you in advance for your advice. Its been a few years since visiting Disney so the new system is a little intimidating for us.

1) the 120 minute rule clock starts at official park opening, not "early theme park entry" opening

2) yes - your ability to book a LL is dependent on the last one you booked...so when you tap into that one or it is 120 minutes after booking it

3) the system will not stop you from having overlapping LL and ILL windows. You can even have two LL windows that overlap.

If you really want to maximize your genie+ use, do keep up with disboards as your trip approaches. There are distinct patterns of the harder to get LLs and ILLs dropping earlier windows at 7:10 and 7:17 respectively (drop times shift sometimes). You can track what is really happing by reading posts AND by getting on the app and playing with the tip board during the mornings leading up to your trip. We used Genie+ to our advantage over spring break. I posted some thoughts after our trip-

Two main tips:

1) first your first LL, make sure whatever ride you are gunning for is the ONLY ride selected as a preference. This puts it at the top of your list of rides so you dont have to scroll at all when you swipe down to refresh at 7am. Example, HS, gunning for SDD, make that the only ride as a preference so its at the top.

2) Time.gov, have that up on a 2nd device, soon as it ticks 7:00am, swipe down on device getting the LL. Then tap, dont even pause to look at time, just tap until youre all the way through.

Oh guess a 3rd tip, not sure if it mattered or not but doesnt hurt, dont use wifi, use phone net if you have a good signal.

Using that even during spring break I got early (IE times BEFORE the silly 2 hour window) for the rides we did. If you can get that first ride to be early and before the 2 hour window crew hits, you should have a much better selection for your 2nd ride of the day that you can book as soon as you do your first LL.

Good luck!

Thank you for the replies, much appreciated and informative.

We cant wait for our trip!
