Boardwalk is my home resort, however, can i still add-on points there, or do I have to purchase at another resort?:pinkbounc

BWV is sold out. You can put your name on lists at the timeshare resellers. There are two of them often mentioned on ths site. One has a link at the top of this page.

You can add on anywhere you want. OKW and BWV are sold out, but still very available through resale.

Since the BoardWalk is sold out, if you want to add on there, you will need to buy a resale. Otherwise, you will have to add on at a different DVC Resort.

Oh...OKW is sold out too, but there are always re-sales

We added to BWV with a resale. If that is where you want to stay then call the Timeshare store and get an a waiting list with them.

If you want to add on a small number of points (<50 or so, maybe even <100-150) it may be extremely difficult to find a resale- which would also leave BWV and OKW out of the running. We just did a small add-on at VWL...we're happy to own there as well as BWV, but I think if BWV were still available we probably would have added on there. Being that we only wanted a small number of points we decided we didn't have much of a shot at finding a resale and we didn't want to pay a few hundred in closing costs for just a few points. Plus buying from DVC gave us the advantage of being able to use our Visa for the purchase!

Just some other things to think about...

I would ideally like a 100 point add-on at BWV. However, they are few and far between and the recent deals for smaller amounts of points have not been good. It is somewhat more likely to find 150 points so I thought an option would be to sell my 50 point add-on and buy a 150 point contract. Again, the deals have not been great and closing costs on two small transactions seems prohibitive. So like Lesley, I'm leaning toward a VWL add-on. We toured the VWL last April and really liked it. I like the BW location but both DW and I really like the theming at VWL. So, I'm toying with getting points at VWL and alternating stays between there and BWV. Well, I've still got a few weeks to mull it over before the price increase...

We also decided to do a small (50 point) add on at the VWL because we didn't think our chances were great for adding on at the BW and we loved the vwl on our last trip and would like to stay there sometimes. When we originally figured out how many points we'd need to do a 2 bedroom once a week (eventually when we have kids, now we do studios for many more days) I based it on standard view points and a season in which I'd prefer not to go (like the spring much more!) I'm still not sure why I did that but regardless, it gave us the opportunity to do a small add on at VWL so that we can get a 2br in any season but premier for a week with any view. I figure every 3rd year or so we will have a split reservation that we will try to convert to entirely VWL at the 7 month window. If not, we'll just move :)

It's probably going to be a bookkeeping nightmare but I live for that kind of thing (another way to obsess about my DVC). The fact that people have reported successfully dealing with many smaller contracts from various resorts on these boards has given me hope about doing the same with my two home resorts.

My father put himself on the small resale list for OKW almost two years ago. In a few weeks a 59 point add on came through. Six months later he wanted more, put his name on the list, this time it took two months for an 88 point add on to come through.

If you are somewhat patient and put you name on ther list and are ready to buy on a moments notice when the call does come, I think you can easily get a resale add on where ever you want for whatever size you want.
