Question regarding activating the Military Salute 4-Day Park Hoppers

I have friends joining us a day after we arrive at the park. We are the military family, but they are not. I know they must enter with us their first time entering the park. My question is: Can we activate their tickets without them being present, or do we need to wait for their first morning? I would love to help them save time on their first morning by being able to bypass the Ticket booth.

Technically, the whole party is supposed to be present when the tickets are activated.

In practice, some CMs will bend that rule.

Just came back from this trip...my father and I went the night before he purchased the tickets for his wife and my youngest. They were not there but we had their magic bands which activated it

I wouldn't have their magic bands because they will need them upon their arrival. I could have their exchange tickets though if I could have them activated before their arrival. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

When we went last June we had ordered our tickets thru SOG. So they were already linked to our magic bands on MDE. We then went to Disney Springs on the evening of our arrival and had them activated. They only spoke to my son, whi showed his military ID and they activated the cards. I don't remember them doing anything w the magic bands or asking to see each individual person
