Hi, we have a reservation and 3 day Park Hopper tickets booked.

We have since decided to visit disneyland for one day on 28th December (to ride the 'due to be refurbished' rides) then vacationing around California until 7th Jan, before then staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights on 7th Jan to 10th Jan.

My question is, if I upgrade to 4 day park hopper tickets, can I pick them up on 28th December (before my actual disneyland hotel reservation) and use them for that day, then saving the remaining 3 days left on the ticket for my stay on 7th Jan - 10th Jan?

Will there also be any issue with them given we will be between 2014 and 2015 in terms of the ticket type?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thank you!!

I believe they are good for 13 days after the first use, so you should be okay to do that, but hopefully someone can confirm the 13 day rule.

From DL's official website:
The first day of use of multi-day tickets must be on or before December 31, 2015. Multi-day tickets must be used within 13 days of first use or by January 13, 2016, whichever occurs first.

So you won't have any problem with the 2014/2015 crossover since those tickets are good all the way through 2015 and a little beyond.

And you should be fine with the 13 day rule as long as you don't want to go into the park on January 10.

You used to be able to only pick up your tickets xx many days 9i think it was 3?) before your reservation date if you booked a package. That would be the only hang up, if there is still such a rule.

Thanks for your help. I have an idea but as I've never been, I'm not sure if this will work? If I change my package to 'room only' and not book tickets, but instead buy a 5 day hopper separately (1 day to use on 28th Dec and remains days on 7th - 10th Jan), then I won't have any issues re picking up the tickets early. But, will I lose my extra magic hours? How do they know we are staying on site when we go through the turnstiles? Do you have tickets AND a room key?

Thanks for any help xxxx

Maybe I misunderstand...I thought the tickets were good 13 days from first use including the day of first use. That would mean that you can't get 5-day tickets and have your first day be Dec. 28 and your last day be Jan. 10 since Jan. 10 would be the 14th day. Perhaps someone else with more certainty can comment on this point.

As for the early entry hours, you don't have to buy your tickets as part of a package to be eligible for those. If you are staying onsite, then you are eligible for early entry each day of your stay including the day you check in and the day you check out. You will need both your park ticket and room key at the park entrance to get in early.
